Three sisters, one mom...
The name Amelia comes from our mother and the three of us sisters. And the White represents our minimalism and elegance.
Amelia and White, is a brand focused on the development of fashion pieces, inspired by the colors of Colombia, created by three sisters and a mother, who seek to empower women (employing female heads of household), as well as focusing on fair trade and slow-fashion.
The idea stems from the need to sell haute couture clothing at fair prices.
The main motivation is the social purpose of the organization; Give visibility to women in the textile industry, since many women in the industry do not enjoy decent work and most are exploited.
The fastfashion is a problem that is based on creating garments quickly and in large volumes. To achieve this, it sacrifices good business practices in pursuit of productivity and profits. It generates high waste, the working conditions are unfair for the people who make it, and it consumes various resources.
The use of slowfashion garments encourages responsible consumption and ethics. Responsible consumption can reverse situations of injustice in industries and commercial activities. In addition, fair trade is one of the areas in which it can impact and contribute to sustainability. A&W, is a local brand dedicated to the production of slowfashion garments, generates decent jobs and uses fabrics from recycled bottles.
